Identity Theft Insurance
EverGuard membership includes identity theft insurance underwritten and administered by American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida, an Assurant company, under group policy coverage arranged through Enfortra. The following is a summary of the insurance benefits available to eligible EverGuard members. Please refer to the actual policy for complete terms, conditions, and exclusions of coverage. Coverage is subject to the terms and conditions of the group master policy.
Coverage Limits
EverGuard offers identity theft insurance with aggregate coverage limits based on your membership plan:
$1,000,000 Plan — Up to $1,000,000 aggregate limit of liability per membership
$5,000,000 Plan — Up to $5,000,000 aggregate limit of liability per membership
Covered Expenses
Identity Fraud Expense Reimbursement
Coverage for losses resulting from identity fraud events discovered during your active EverGuard membership period, including:
Unauthorized use of existing financial accounts
Fraudulent opening of new accounts using your identity
Unauthorized electronic fund transfers
Tax fraud and government benefits fraud committed in your name
Medical identity theft
Criminal identity theft (identity used during an arrest or criminal proceeding)
Home title and deed fraud
Professional license and credential fraud
Cash & Financial Account Recovery
Reimbursement for unrecoverable funds lost through unauthorized electronic transfers from personal bank accounts
Debit card fraud deductible recovery
Investment and HSA account recovery (up to $1,000,000 as part of aggregate limit)
Emergency Assistance
Emergency cash advance and lost wallet assistance — up to $500 per 12-month period
Travel-related identity fraud assistance
Specialized Coverage
Senior Family Member Fraud — Coverage for identity fraud committed against eligible senior family members on your plan
Deceased Family Member Fraud (Ghosting) — Protection against fraudulent use of a deceased family member's identity
Cyber Extortion Recovery — Reimbursement for costs incurred as a result of cyber extortion threats
Cyber Insurance
In addition to identity theft coverage, eligible EverGuard members receive personal cyber insurance coverage. Annual limits of insurance are as follows:

What Cyber Insurance Covers
Data Recovery — Expenses to restore or recover digital assets damaged through system compromise, covering up to twelve months following discovery
Cyber Crime — Losses from fraudulent financial instructions, phishing-induced transfers, and unauthorized access to personal bank accounts
Cryptocurrency Crime — Loss of digital currency stolen through unauthorized access, provided the exchange has declined to reverse the transaction
Cyber Extortion — Expenses and payments resulting from credible threats to steal data, corrupt systems, or restrict access
Cyber Bullying — Reimbursement for therapy, childcare, and relocation expenses for victims of repeated electronic harassment causing documented mental distress
Duties Upon Discovery of Loss
If you believe you are a victim of identity theft or a covered cyber event, you must:
Notify EverGuard and relevant authorities within 60 days of discovering the loss
File a detailed proof of loss within the required timeframe
File a police report where applicable
Cooperate fully with any investigation conducted by the insurer
Take reasonable steps to mitigate further losses
General Exclusions
Coverage does not apply to:
Fraudulent, dishonest, or criminal acts committed by the insured member or their immediate family
Losses arising from voluntary surrender of account credentials or access devices
Computer processing errors unrelated to identity fraud
Losses related to business or commercial activities
Indirect, consequential, or speculative damages
Cryptocurrency or digital currency transferred voluntarily by the insured
Losses discovered prior to the effective date of coverage
Physical injury or property damage
War-related events (except cyber terrorism)
Securities or regulatory violations
Government enforcement actions
Losses arising from cryptocurrency exchange platform failures
Cost Limitations
Legal consultation services are capped at $125 per hour
Attorney fees for covered legal proceedings are limited to $350 per hour
All expenses must be pre-approved by the insurer to be eligible for reimbursement
Claims Process
To file a claim, contact EverGuard member support. All claims must be reported in writing as soon as practicable, and no later than 60 days after discovery of a covered event. The insurer will process claims within 90 days of receipt of acceptable documentation.
